Dr. Tonya Sweezer has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from Seattle University, a Master of Science degree in Medical Science from University of North Texas Health Science Center, and a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University – a leader in Natural Medicine education. She has been a primary care physician since 2005, and has practiced Naturopathic family medicine with Trinity Family Health Clinic and Cornerstone Family Health Clinic in the Seattle area.
She is currently Director of the Naturopathic doctor network at AmeriDoc, LLC, as well as founder of Viva Natural Health in Dallas, Texas. Her areas of expertise include women’s medicine, digestive disorders, allergies, food sensitivity, detoxification, clinical nutrition and disease prevention. She has advanced training in CranioSacral Therapy, Intravenous Nutrient Therapy, and BioIdentical Hormone Therapy.
She is dedicated to community service and community health education, and has served as faculty and guest speaker for several local colleges. She is also a founding member and Treasurer of Artemis Medical Society, a professional networking and mentoring organization of dynamic African American female physicians. Dr. Sweezer continues to advance her expertise, and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at the University of North Texas Health Science Center, Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine.
